Cast-Iron Skillet Taco Macaroni and Cheese

Image
I just finished work for the day and I am so ready for a 4-day weekend. Comment below and let me know if you have any fun Labor Day plans! Our county is still on the "purple" list which is the watchlist here in California so we still don't have a lot of places open to go to :( Such a weird and crazy year, right? It's been one of the most stressful years of my life to be honest but cooking almost every night has made things so much easier and better for me. This is also my 3rd week of doing an at-home HIIT workout twice a week which makes me feel so much better too. I need some more ideas for my mental health and sanity. Comment below if you have any other ideas or fun things that can help! Anyways, last night I made this Cast-Iron Skillet Taco Macaroni and Cheese from Tasty and it was tasty (no pun intended). It's a one-pot meal which makes things super easy and it only took 30 minutes to make from start to finish. We changed up a few things including: replacin

Looking for Some Quick Cash? Try These Pay Advance Loan Apps

Image
Photo courtesy: Dave Only working 16 hours a week and not receiving any unemployment, I've had my fair share of borrowing loans from different apps. I wanted to put together a blog of legit loan apps that I have personally used and my thoughts about them below. If you have more that you want to add, please let me know and I'll try them out! 1. Dave - I have been using Dave for a few months now and it seems like it's the most popular now-a-days. I personally have been able to borrow up to $75 per week and I have to pay it back every week. They don't work with you on payment dates so be sure to only take it out if you can pay it back a week from that date. I have had no issues with them, they responded pretty quickly to me. The only downside is not extending payment dates. No monthly fees. **Update: I have emailed them about changing and updating a payment date since I would not have any funds and they did update it to my next payday. 2. Brigit - Get your finan

Easy Soy Chicken Ramen

Image
I found this recipe a few days ago for Soy Chicken and Ramen Noodles and wanted to give it a try. We have plenty of ramen noodles here and anything to make them better, I am all for. Has anyone used Mirin? I am unaware of what that is so I excluded it from the recipe. We also used garlic powder instead of garlic gloves. I just made the ramen noodles, I didn't add the egg, green onions or seaweed. Ingredients: 3 tbsp soy sauce 2 tbsp sugar 1/4 cup chicken broth 1 tbsp garlic powder 1/4 tsp black pepper 1 tbsp avocado oil 1 large boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite sizes 2 portions ramen noodles (you won't add in the seasoning packet) 1 tbsp sesame oil Directions: Combine all ingredients for the sauce in a mixing bowl - soy sauce, sugar, chicken broth, and garlic powder. Set aside. Heat a medium size pan over medium high heat, add avocado oil and swirl to coat. Add chicken and sear for about 5-10 minutes until golden brown. Flip over and cook f

Homemade Chili on the Stove

Image
My cousin shared another recipe last week that I just had to try - Wendy's Chili. Now I enjoyed this one but there were a few hiccups where I learned a few lessons for next time. Apparently I had the wrong burner on the stove turned on and I was wondering why it wasn't cooking :/ This went on for like an hour. So that was problem number one - embarrassing I know. Then I had it on the stove for 30 minutes and the bottom of the pan burned so maybe spray the pan beforehand or maybe use a little it of vegetable oil with it so it doesn't stick? Those were my lessons. Now onto the recipe. I actually enjoyed this one with some Saltine crackers. Kevin didn't care for it. Hopefully yours turns out better after my mistakes ;) Ingredients: 2 pounds ground beef 24oz pasta (spaghetti) sauce 15oz can tomato puree 15oz can red kidney beans, drained 2 tbsp onion powder 1/8 cup chili powder 2 tsp ground cumin 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp pepper 1/2 tsp dried

Cheesy Penne Pasta Meatball Bake

Image
This recipe was another one that was found in one of the groups I'm in on Facebook. Credit goes to Ronni F. His recipe calls for frozen meatballs but we made ours by hand and added seasonings to ours. Besides that, this recipe is only 4 ingredients - meatballs, penne pasta, spaghetti sauce and mozzarella cheese. Ingredients: -Ground beef to form the meatballs -We did not measure but here are the seasonings we used - breadcrumbs, salt, basil leaves, pepper, italian seasoning, seasoned salt, onion powder and garlic powder -3/4 of a box of penne pasta -1 1/2 cans of spaghetti sauce -Half a bag of mozzarella cheese (you can do as much as you would like) Directions: Take the ground beef and form into balls as big or small as you would like. In a bowl, combine the seasonings together to your liking and then roll the meatball into the seasonings. Spray a pan and turn stove on to medium heat. Let the meatballs cook until they are done all the way (I know the photo doesn't

Chicken Fried Rice Recipe

Image
Today I am hoping to provide you guys with two recipes - Chicken Fried Rice and a Penne Meatball Bake. I meant to do a blog yesterday but I didn't get on my computer at all yesterday (for once) because of how busy I was - Jace got to meet his 4th grade teacher and she went over his Chromebook and distance learning that he will be starting on Monday! And then I went to Dollar General because they are having a HUGE Clearance Sale this weekend. If you are curious about Penny Shopping or Clearance Shopping at DG, you will want to read this blog -  https://abbielynn02.blogspot.com/2019/06/penny-shopping-at-dollar-general.html After DG I went to Smart and Final to get more groceries, came home, unloaded groceries and started making dinner. I also watched the recorded Jazz game and they are KILLING it in the playoffs you guys! I am so proud of my team! Anyways...back to the recipe. I made this last night and it was super easy. The original recipe was from The Recipe Critic and I don&

Baked Chicken Tetrazzini Recipe

Image
Am I the only one that has never heard of Chicken Tetrazzini? The only reason why I decided to make it was because I had all of the ingredients at home. I love pasta but I am picky when it comes to pasta recipes. I have to say this was definitely a family favorite! Kevin and I literally cleared our plates and I even had leftovers for lunch today. The original recipe I don't have a link for because it was a comment on a post in a group I am in. I changed up some things including measurements since we only needed enough for two of us :) Ingredients: 8 oz spaghetti noodles 6 tbsp butter, soft but not melted 5 chicken tenders, cooked and diced 2 cans of cream of chicken soup 1/3 cup of sour cream 1/4 tsp salt 1/2 tsp pepper 1/2 cup chicken broth 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1/2 tsp onion powder one layer parmesan cheese (maybe 1/2 cup) 1 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese So many ingredients make this so delicious and creamy! Directions: Cut/dice chicken tenders into pieces and c
