Homemade Simple Taco Seasoning

Image
A few nights ago I made a simple and easy taco seasoning blend that I wanted to pass along. The original recipe is on the Davita website and can be found HERE .  Ingredients: 3 tbsp onion powder 2 tbsp ground cumin 1 1/2 tsp chili powder 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper 1 tsp garlic powder Directions: Combine all seasonings together with a whisk.  If you would like to use it in a ground beef taco mix - cook ground beef on the stove until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain. Add 1/2 cup low sodium tomato sauce and the taco seasoning. Heat until warm. Serve with tortillas, lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream. For that full recipe, you can click HERE .

Homemade Taco Seasoning

Last night we had tacos in our house and I unfortunately did not have a packet of taco seasoning like I typically do. I decided to Google a homemade taco seasoning and it was really good! I used a recipe by AllRecipes and the only change was using half of the salt and adding water to the taco meat to make sure the taco seasoning absorbs as it should. The full recipe is below!  Ingredients: 1 tbsp chili powder 1/4 tsp garlic powder 1/4 tsp onion powder 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes 1/4 tsp dried oregano 1/2 tsp paprika powder 1 1/2 tsp ground cumin 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp cracked pepper Directions: Combine all ingredients in a mason jar. If you are going to use it for tacos and ground beef, cook the ground beef until no longer pink. Add 1/2 cup water and the taco seasoning. Simmer for 4 minutes. Enjoy!
