Sweet and Sour Chicken

Happy Friday! I can finally say that I am so happy that the weekend is here. It seems like I always have a "crazy week" but I am so ready for a break. I just want to lay in bed and binge watch "You" on Netflix. Anyone else? Earlier this week we made this delicious Sweet and Sour Chicken recipe. This recipe from Moms Dish can be found here: https://momsdish.com/recipe/421/easy-sweet-and-sour-chicken I initially royally messed up on making this chicken but I kind of turned it into my own (and I've fried chicken enough to know how to do it) so my updated directions are below. I removed salt from the ingredients (I hardly ever use salt), I used garlic powder instead of garlic cloves, and did not use garlic parsley salt. Ingredients: 2 large chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces 1 cup cornstarch 1/2 tsp pepper 1 tsp garlic powder 1/2-1 cup of vegetable oil 2 eggs 1/2 cup sugar/monkfruit 1 tbsp low sodium soy sauce 1/3 cup no sugar ketchup 1/2 cup apple cider vi

Sweet and Sour Chicken

A few nights ago we decided to make some Sweet and Sour Chicken - courtesy of the "shirtless Chef" aka Jace who always takes his shirt off and puts his apron on. It's the most hilarious thing but he's been helping a lot with dinners this week which I have greatly appreciated.   We love fried food and make fried food at home probably once a week. The fried chicken that we have been making lately has been PHENOMENAL. With this Sweet and Sour Chicken recipe from Dinner Then Dessert , we actually didn't use peppers or pineapple. We used monkfruit in place of sugar and onion powder in place of onion. We also replaced garlic with garlic powder. Although it didn't have the usual pineapples and peppers, Jace said it tastes just like Sweet and Sour Chicken that you order and takeout so I will take that!  Ingredients: 1 1/2 Large Chicken breasts, cut into cubes 1/2 cup cornstarch 2 eggs 1/4 cup flour Vegetable oil, for frying 1 tbsp onion powder 1/2 cup monkfruit 1/4 cu

Super Easy Sweet and Sour Chicken

Last night I made the easiest Sweet and Sour Chicken for dinner. I used the recipe from HERE when it came to cooking the chicken. I then used a Sweet and Sour sauce for the sauce. Super easy! Full recipe below ⬇️⬇️ Ingredients: 1.25 pounds of boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into 1-inch pieces 3 tbsp cornstarch Salt and pepper, to taste 4 tbsp olive oil 2 green onions, sliced into thin rounds 2 tbsp sesame seeds Your favorite sweet and sour sauce Directions: Add the chicken, cornstarch, salt and pepper to a large ziplock bag and shake to coat evenly. Add 4 tbsp olive oil to a large skillet and cook the chicken over medium heat until all the way cooked through.  Mine was partially frozen so it took about 15-20 minutes. After it's cooked through, add the sauce and stir to coat evenly.  Cook in sauce for a few minutes and then garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve with white rice and noodles. Enjoy!
