Pulled Pork Sandwich

Image
One final pre-Christmas or the day-after-Christmas recipe when you no longer want to cook a huge, fancy meal. This recipe is actually for pulled pork with bourbon peach barbecue sauce. We didn't do the sauce and instead turned it into pulled pork sandwiches. This recipe is from My Recipes and can be found HERE . I actually forgot to take a photo of the actual sandwiches (whoops) but they were good! We don't use salt so I removed the salt and then I removed the entire sauce from the original recipe. Ingredients: 2 tsp paprika 1 tsp pepper Pork shoulder roast Cooking spray 1/2 cup organic chicken broth 1/3 cup balsamic vinegar 1/3 cup molasses 2 tbsp lower sodium soy sauce 1 tsp crushed red pepper 1 tbsp garlic powder 1 tbsp onion powder Directions: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Combine paprika and pepper and rub over the pork. Coat a pan with cooking spray and add the pork to pan. Cook 10 minutes, turning after 5 minutes to brown both sides.  Place in a slow cooker

There may be a lot of ingredients but this is a slow cooker recipe so, once the sauce is made, it's just a sit-and-go recipe from there. You can turn this into a pulled pork sandwich or just eat the pulled pork plain, like we did. We served ours with potatoes and broccoli.  Ingredients: 1 cup ketchup (preferrably low sodium although I couldn't find this anywhere) I was able to find a no-sugar ketchup 1 cup no-salt tomato sauce 2/3 cup brown sugar 2/3 cup red wine vinegar 1/4 cup molasses 2 tsp liquid smoke 1/4 tsp garlic powder 1/4 tsp onion powder 1/4 tsp chili powder 1/2 tsp paprika 3 cinnamon sticks 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper 1/2 tsp pepper 4 pounds pork shoulder roast Directions: Mix all ingredients (except the pork shoulder
