Slow Cooker Crack Chicken

Image
Crack chicken is so good (and addicting, hence "crack") so I saved this recipe to have for both lunch and dinner. I can't say it's the healthiest, but it IS delicious. Inspiration is from Wholesome Yum . It was only Kevin and I eating this one so portions were much smaller. I also used The Social Distancer from Pinch Spice Market (it is now called Buffy's Slayer Helper ) in place of some of the herbs and seasonings, and I used light cream cheese and reduced fat cheddar cheese to adapt to what I eat on Noom. We also did not use green onions. Using Noom has taught me how to take regular foods that I eat and adapt them so they are a little bit healthier (ie: use "light" or "reduced fat" when possible). I also like using the Social Distancer because it has a group of seasonings altogether in one bag (garlic, parsley, salt, and basil) so it adds more flavor.  Ingredients: 3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts 1 tbsp Pinch Spice Market The Social Dist

Slow Cooker Turkey White Bean Chili

I initially wasn't going to post this recipe but when everyone liked it, I changed my mind :) I'm not a huge fan of ground turkey but I've been trying to focus on eating a little bit healthier since I haven't worked out in a few weeks. Jace and I had this recipe with tortilla chips and Kevin put it on his hot dog as like a chili dog. The only thing that made this recipe not-so-basic was all of the seasonings that went into it. It seemed like 25,000 ;) Most likely you will have most of these seasonings on-hand. Super easy to make and the original recipe is actually a Chicken recipe and can be found HERE . If you make this, let me know what you add or do to make it more interesting! Ingredients: 4 cups chicken broth 2 cans of Bush's Beans Great Northern (white beans) 1 tsp parsley 1 tsp cumin 1 tsp oregano 1 tsp paprika 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper 1/4 tsp pepper 1/4 tsp salt 1 pound ground turkey 1 tbsp onion powder 1 tbsp garlic powder Directions: In a skillet, on med

Slow Cooker Boneless Ribs

Image
To be honest, I made this recipe tonight and I didn't plan on posting about it. I'm not sure if it was because I just thought it would be "another crockpot recipe" or if I was lazy (haha) but either way, after I tried them, I HAD to post because they were so amazing. They were melt-in-your-mouth ribs and pull-apart. I had them with white rice and garlic bread. These were 8-year old Jace approved! The original recipe is from Tasty and can be found HERE . Ingredients: 1 cup BBQ sauce 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup Sweet Baby Ray's chicken wing sauce 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar dried oregano 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce cayenne pepper paprika 2 pounds boneless ribs pepper Directions: Combine BBQ sauce, brown sugar, chicken wing sauce, apple cider vinegar, oregano, worcestershire sauce, cayenne pepper, and paprika in a small bowl. With the seasonings, I just put in as much as needed so you can adjust to your preference. Whisk t

Crockpot Chicken Pot Pie

Before I share this recipe, I have a really funny and cute story that I have to share. I told Jace, my 7-year old stepson, that I was making Chicken Pot Pie for dinner. The first thing he asked was, "Like the red rice and beans? And chicken wings?" He totally thought I said "Popeyes"! Now I can't say that this recipe beats Popeyes but it is super good! We made some major changes to this recipe but you can click on the original recipe HERE . Below is ours! Ingredients: onion powder 1.5 cups chopped carrots fresh parsley leaves 1 teaspoon dried oregano 1 teaspoon paprika 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon pepper 1 cup chicken broth 22oz cream of chicken condensed soup 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts 1.5 cups frozen peas 15oz can of corn 1 can biscuits, baked Directions: Layer onion powder, parsley leaves, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper in the bottom of the crockpot. Add carrots, chicken broth, chicken soup and stir to combine. Nestle t

Honey Garlic Chicken in the Crockpot

Image
The original recipe for the Crock Pot Honey Garlic Chicken can be found HERE This recipe was SO easy to make. I took it and made it my own.  Ingredients: three boneless, skinless, chicken thighs one tbsp. garlic powder 1/3 cup honey 1/2 cup ketchup 1/2 cup soy sauce one tbsp oregano one tbsp parsley Add garlic powder in a bowl.  Add 1/3 cup honey.  Add ketchup, soy sauce, oregano and parsley. Whisk all ingredients. Place three chicken breast in the crockpot.  Pour sauce in crockpot. Put crockpot on high for four hours or low for eight hours. Since the chicken was already thawed, I cooked on high for five hours and that was more than enough. Serve with rice and veggies. Enjoy!
