Spicy Chicken Sandwich (Popeye's Copycat)
A few nights ago I made this fried chicken sandwich using a recipe from Gimme Delicious HERE . I actually made it for Kevin and Jace and I had pizza ;) He said it was really good but - even though it's meant to be a Popeye's copycat recipe - didn't taste like Popeyes. It could also be that we didn't use brioche buns and changed a few ingredients. There are several steps to this process so it was probably considered a "Medium" recipe on a scale of easy to hard. The chicken looked delicious though - it's a little spicy so I didn't try it, I don't really like spicy foods, but I'm taking Kevin's word that it was good :) Here goes: Marinade: - 1 large or 2 small boneless skinless chicken breast - 1 cup milk and 1 tablespoon vinegar (or 1 cup buttermilk) - 1 tsp garlic powder - 1 tsp black pepper - 1 tsp salt For the Breading: - 1 cup flour - 1/2 cup cornstarch - 1 tablespoon paprika - 1 tablespoon garlic powder - 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper - 1
