Easy Shredded Ranch Chicken
Looking for a creamy, cheesy shredded chicken recipe? This easy chicken dinner combines chicken, ranch seasoning, and cream cheese for a delicious family meal. 

Inspired by classic slow cooker meals, this creamy shredded ranch chicken is made without butter and enhanced with flavorful chicken broth, black pepper, and onion powder.

Jace described the first bite as “delicious and cheesy” – and it's true! The combination of cream of chicken soup with cream cheese creates a rich, luxurious flavor.

If you want to make it ahead of time like we did, simply add the ingredients to a crockpot and cook on high for 3 hours. Store it in an airtight container in the fridge until you're ready to eat. I cooked mine on the stovetop while the rice was cooking for a faster option.

Serve the brown rice in a bowl and top with the shredded chicken mixture. 

How to Customize this Dish
If you're looking to switch things up, try adding sautéed onions or swapping the cream cheese for Greek yogurt for a lighter version.

Ingredients for Shredded Ranch Chicken

• 3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
• *10.5 oz cream of chicken soup
• *1 oz ranch seasoning
• 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
• 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
• 4 oz cream cheese 
• *1/2 cup chicken broth
• Black pepper, to taste
• 2 tsp onion powder

How to Make Shredded Ranch Chicken
Step 1: Wash and prepare the chicken breasts. Pat dry and trim any visible fat. If you’re using frozen chicken, make sure to thaw it first to ensure even cooking.

Step 2: In a bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup, ranch seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce. This mixture is the base for your sauce, giving the chicken a rich, creamy texture. 

You can make it spicier by adding a teaspoon of cayenne pepper or a dash of hot sauce.

Step 3: Once the chicken is in the slow cooker, pour the soup mixture over it. Add the chicken broth and onion powder and give it a quick stir. 

This is a good time to check the seasoning level; if you like it a bit more peppery, feel free to add extra black pepper at this stage.

Step 4: Add dollops of softened cream cheese evenly over the chicken mixture. This helps it melt evenly throughout the cooking process. The cream cheese gives the dish a smooth, rich consistency that’s irresistible.

Step 5: Set your slow cooker on high for 3-4 hours or until the chicken is fully cooked and easily shreds with a fork. If you’re short on time, you can also cook it on low for 6-7 hours. Serve with rice and green beans.

Storage & Reheating Tip:
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave for 2 minutes or until warm. This shredded ranch chicken also freezes well!
