Crispy Sweet Chili Beef stir fry with vegetables in a bowl, ready to eat.

Sweet Chili Beef Stir Fry
Last night I made the most delicious, crunchy, flavorful, crispy sweet chili beef recipe I have ever made. Jace took one bite and asked when I was making it again and because of that, I've added this crispy stir fry recipe to our monthly dinner rotation.

This crispy, easy stir-fry beef is the perfect balance of savory, tangy, and crunchy. Whether you're craving a satisfying weeknight dinner or want to impress guests with takeout-quality flavors at home, this dish is sure to hit the spot. The flavors are mild and the sweet chili sauce really stands out. One bite and you will fall in love!

• Total prep time: 15-20 minutes
• Total cook time: 20-30 minutes
• Family friendly: Absolutely! My teen, fiancé and I cleared out plates
Pairing suggestions: You can pair with garlic bread, rice, noodles, or cauliflower rice for a low-carb option

Although this recipe was inspired by Khins Kitchen, we made significant changes to ours and it still was amazing. In fact, when I went to go crack an egg like the original recipe called for, our eggs were frozen somehow! So I eliminated the egg altogether and it still turned out.

The Secret Ingredient
We used sirloin steak strips for this recipe and 1-2 pounds was the perfect amount for our family of three. We didn't have leftovers. Kevin and Jace were both surprised that the sauce had ketchup in it but it's definitely a secret ingredient that adds to the flavor. This crispy beef is better than takeout! You will not be disappointed!

Customize Options
• Try swapping the beef for tofu or tempeh for a vegetarian version.
• If you like extra heat, add a chopped red chili or a few dashes of hot sauce to the stir fry sauce.
• Looking for a lower-carb option? Try swapping rice with cauliflower rice, or even add a dash of hot sauce for extra heat!

• 1-2 lb Sirloin Steak, cut into strips
• 1 cup cornstarch
• 1/2 c frozen stir fry vegetables (you can swap out for fresh vegetables if you would like)
• Vegetable oil

Ingredients for the Marinate:
• *1 tbsp low sodium soy sauce (we always purchase low sodium)
• 1 tsp ground ginger
• 1 tsp sesame oil
• *1/2 tsp monk fruit (you can use regular sugar if you would like but I used monk fruit for a healthier alternative)
• 1/4 tsp black pepper

Ingredients for Stir Fry Sauce:
*3 tbsp Sweet Chili Sauce  (this one is for an Organic Sweet Chili Sauce)
• 2 tbsp ketchup
• *2 tbsp soy sauce
• 1 tsp seasoned rice vinegar
• *1 tbsp monk fruit

Directions for Crispy Sweet Chili Beef (Step-by-Step):
Cut beef into small, thin strips.

Marinate the beef strips in a Ziploc bag with the marinate ingredients. Marinate in the fridge for 15 minutes.

While the beef is marinating, mix all ingredients for the stir fry sauce in a small bowl and set aside.

Heat the vegetable oil on the stove on high. Once it starts sizzling, turn the heat down to medium/high.

Take the beef out of the bag and add it to a bowl of cornstarch, making sure all pieces get coated. For extra crispy beef, be sure to coat each piece evenly with cornstarch and fry in small batches. This prevents the pieces from sticking together and ensures each piece is perfectly crispy.

Add the coated beef to the sizzling oil and fry for 2-5 minutes until crispy. Flip over halfway if needed.

Remove from oil and transfer to a bowl or plate.

Remove the excess oil from the pan (be careful as it's hot!) and add frozen vegetables. Add 2 tbsp water and cover on medium/high for 7-9 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Remove vegetables from heat and add to individual bowls.

Add 1 tbsp oil and add beef strips back to the bowl. Cover with stir fry sauce, making sure all beef strips are covered. Let sit on medium heat for 2-4 minutes.

Storage & Reheating Tips:
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat on the stovetop for best results.
