Chicken Lo Mein Recipe
I love Asian meals and making them at home is even better. Not only does it save us money, but you also know the ingredients going into it. This Chicken Lo Mein recipe is just as amazing as it looks. The chicken is soft and juicy and the pasta is flavorful.

Making food at home is often healthier because it gives you full control over the ingredients you use, allowing you to choose fresh, whole foods and avoid the added sugars, unhealthy fats, and excessive sodium often found in processed or restaurant meals. Home cooking also makes it easier to manage portion sizes, which can help with maintaining a balanced diet.

If you are looking for something so simple and easy to make, this easy chicken lo mein recipe is it! Jace loved it so much that he had it for dinner and then took it to school the next day. He literally told his friends at school that he made it. I asked him what would happen if they came over and asked how he made it, he said he would just let "Mom help with the recipe." This kid cracks me up.

This easy and flavorful chicken lo mein recipe is quick to prepare, customizable to your preferences, and perfect for a family-friendly dinner.

• Total prep time: 15-30 minutes
• Total cook time: 10 minutes
• Family-friendly: Yes, my teen and fiancĂ© both loved this meal
• Difficulty level: Easy
 Serving size: 4-5
• Serving suggestions: Serve with garlic bread or a roll, steamed vegetables, egg rolls, or a side salad.
This Chicken Lo Mein pairs perfectly with my Crispy Sweet Chili Beef for a full meal.

This meal was inspired by Diethood - We used chicken breast instead of thighs, garlic powder instead of minced garlic, chicken broth instead of stock, and we didn't use any cabbage, toasted sesame oil, carrots, or green onions.

Feel free to customize this recipe to your liking. You can swap out chicken for shrimp or tofu. You can also add green onions. If you like spice, you can add crushed red peppers or cayenne pepper for an extra kick.

• 2-4 boneless, skinless chicken breast, cubed (you can also replace with boneless, skinless, chicken thighs for a juicier chicken)
• *3 tbsp soy sauce

Ingredients for the Sauce:
• 1/4 cup oyster sauce (Don't let the oyster sauce fool you. I HATE seafood, I hate everything about it honestly but the oyster sauce is actually good! It doesn't taste like seafood or oyster at all to me)
• 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
• *3 tbsp soy sauce
• 1 tbsp honey
• 4 tbsp sesame oil
• 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
• 1 tbsp garlic powder
• *2/3 cup chicken broth
• 2 1/2 tbsp cornstarch

Tip: Use low-sodium soy sauce for a healthier version of this recipe. And if you prefer a spicier dish, add crushed red pepper flakes to the sauce.

Ingredients for the Noodles:
• Lo mein noodles

How to Make Chicken Lo Mein:
Step #1 Marinade the chicken with soy sauce for 15-30 minutes.

Step #2 Prepare the sauce by whisking together all sauce ingredients until smooth.
