Homemade Spaghetti Sauce

Last night I decided to make Spaghetti with a homemade Spaghetti Sauce to help with us eating better. Thanks to my Nana, I also have been using Linguine noodles instead of Spaghetti Noodles - game. changer. The original spaghetti sauce recipe was actually a slow cooker recipe but I didn't realize that until it was too late. So I just added everything to a pan on the stove and it worked out perfectly! This spaghetti sauce recipe was easy to make and it does contain ground beef. The tomatoes had green chilis so it had a little kick to it. It was delicious! If you make this spaghetti sauce, let me know in the comments below!

Changes that we made compared to the original recipe and to make it healthier: Used tomato paste with no added sugar, added fire roasted and organic diced tomatoes, did not use brown sugar, used onion powder instead of onion, garlic powder instead of minced garlic, and we did not use basil.

Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
28oz can crushed tomatoes
28oz diced & fire roasted organic tomatoes from Trader Joe's
6oz can tomato paste with no sugar added from Trader Joe's
1 tbsp onion powder
2 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp dried oregano
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 tsp red pepper flakes
Linguine noodles

Optional: Parmesan cheese

Directions:
Cook ground beef in a pan on the stove over medium heat, about 5-7 minutes. Drain. While that is cooking, cook the noodles on the stove until al dente. Once ground beef is drained, add crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, salt, pepper and pepper flakes to the pan. Turn temperature to low heat and cook 7-10 minutes. Serve on top of Linguine noodles and top with parmesan cheese.
