Teriyaki Pulled Pork

If you want your house to smell AMAZING all day, you will definitely want to make this Slow Cooker Teriyaki Pulled Pork. We made sandwiches out of the pulled pork but you can really eat it by itself or you can use hamburger buns, so amazing and delicious! The original recipe can be found HERE and we changed a few things including - using pork butt instead of pork shoulder, used ground ginger instead of fresh ginger, used sherry cooking wine instead of dry sherry and used garlic powder instead of minced garlic. This recipe has a lot of ingredients but is fairly easy to make. If you make it, let me know in the comments below! I would love to hear your feedback.

Ingredients:
3/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup chicken broth
1/4 cup pineapple juice
3 tbsp brown sugar
3 tbsp sherry cooking wine
1 tbsp honey
2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp red pepper flakes
1/4 cup cold water
3 tsp cornstarch
3 pounds pork butt roast

Directions:
Combine soy sauce, chicken broth, pineapple juice, brown sugar, sherry, honey, garlic powder, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk the cold water and cornstarch in a small bowl and then add to the saucepan, stirring to incorporate.

Bring sauce to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer to thicken, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat. Place roast in slow cooker and pour teriyaki sauce over the top.

Cook on low about 7 hours. After about 6 hours, you should be able to shred the pork in the crockpot. Let cook for an additional 30-60 minutes. Serve right away and add BBQ sauce if you would like :)
