Chicken Chow Mein with Spaghetti Noodles
A few nights ago we were really craving Chinese Food and decided to go with Chicken Chow Mein. I've never made Chow Mein before and when I went to the market to search for Chow Mein Noodles, I thought I was solid when I picked up the can of noodles. When I got home I realized those were the crispy Chow Mein Noodles so now I had to come up with an alternative to the noodles. The past few recipes, I have found sauce packets to add to the recipe for added flavor. I happened to find one for the Chow Mein and reading the back of the sauce, it had a full recipe for Chow Mein using Spaghetti Noodles. Boyfriend definitely didn't like the idea but surprisingly, it was delicious! I eliminated some things from the ingredient list and added some things but overall, I would give it a 9/10. I wish I made more chicken and had more sauce or used less spaghetti noodles but it was still super good and something I would make again.
1 package Chow Mein Seasoning Mix
3 Tbsp soy sauce
3 Tbsp olive oil
3 chicken thighs, cut into cubes
1 carrot, sliced thin
2 Tbsp onion powder
8 oz dry spaghetti, cooked on package directions
Combine seasoning mix with 3/4 cup water. Add 3 Tbsp soy sauce and whisk together and set aside.
